A Piercing Peace

Yall, I never knew how hard it would be to find a job. I watch the news, read about the politics of it all, listened to the difficulties and hurdles that were jumped by so many other college graduates in their job search, but for some reason it never really resonated with me. I have always believed that the Lord would provide me a job. I still believe that the Lord will provide. Jehovah Jireh is what I cling to.

We, as human beings, have such a peace about our life when everything is calm. We praise God for blessing us with such wonderful people, a great job, a loving family and a meal to eat every day. So why is it that when just one of these things seems off kilter, the whole equation of peace rocks us so hard that we can barely breath? That peace that we felt deep in our souls- Where does it go?

The truth is that the peace goes nowhere. The peace of the Lord is embedded in every believer. He is whispering His prayers of peace over my heart right now. The clincher here is, we have to chose to believe in that peace, choose to feel that peace piercing our hearts with truth and choose to charge through life clinging to that peace. So many times our worldly fears overcome us and bring doubt, frustration and anger. Peace does not always mean that life looks and feels great all of the time. Peace is when you know that despite the chaos of the world around you, you can rest in knowing that God, Jehovah Jireh, is the only producer of the piercing peace that gives you hope.

I don't know about you, but I choose to cling to Peace from the Lord and not the chaos and lies of the world. And believe me, I know how difficult that is. I know how difficult it is to choose peace when every fleshly desire is screaming in fear. I know how difficult it can be to have peace that all of my efforts in looking for a job are even worth it. But instead of clinging to doubt and fear, I know that the Lord has prepared Trey and I for "such a time as this".

I am choosing peace today, what are you choosing?

Here is what I read in Jesus Calling Today:

"TRUST ME in the depths of your being. It is there that I live in constant communion with you. When you feel flustered and frazzled on the outside, do not get upset with yourself. You are only human, and the swirl of events going on all around you will sometimes feel overwhelming. Rather than scolding yourself for your humanness, remind yourself that I am both with you and within you.
I am with you at all times, encouraging and supportive rather than condemning. I know that deep within you, where I live, My Peace is your continual experience. Slow down your pace of living for a time. Quiet your mind in My Presence. Then you will be able to hear Me bestowing the resurrection blessing: Peace be with you."

This Week at the Beavers

So..Life in Rome is quickly turning into our new normal. I am still looking for a job and that is really starting to grind my nerves. There is just nothing more frustrating in life than earning a college degree and then not being able to find ANY job after you graduate. It starts to affect how you feel about yourself after a while...

Anyways, here is what Trey and I have been doing this week!

We LOVE going to explore Berry's campus when we have time. Earlier this week we went to Berry's Possum Trot Church. It was built in 1850 and was used as a church and a school where Martha Berry taught and it continued to be open until 1954. It is so unique and amazing to see such an old church and schoolhouse, with original scripture that Martha Berry wrote still displayed on the walls! This girl is a huge history buff and I am ECSTATIC over all the history there is in Rome.

"I have found the one my heart Loves" Song of Songs 3:4

My super sweet husband made this for me for the wall above our dresser in our bedroom! I LOVE IT!!
I am so blessed to have found such an amazing man to spend the rest of my life with. This is one of our favorite verses.

We spent an annoying amount of time at the DMV lately (when did the name change to DDS??). I finally got my new lisence with my new last name on it in the mail this week! I am not the biggest fan of the picture- but I am glad to know that I am officially and legally a 'Beavers'. Now all I have left to do is change my passport. I have got to hop on that soon though because as much as our family loves to travel, you never know when I will need it : )

We had taco night this week which is one the easiest and best meals around the Beavers household. Georgia really loves taco night too- she is always eager to see if she gets any leftovers!

And we have played A LOT of our favorite game- Banangrams!

Trey and I are so excited to get started watching the Olympics opening ceremony tonight! I love the olympics. I think it is absolutely amazing to have a chance to watch the most talented athletes in the world for three weeks all in one place. Ahh, gives me chills just thinking about it : ) My favorite olympic events are swimming, gymnastics, diving and track. And a double hooray for kicking all the Olympic fun off with gymnastics TOMORROW!

Have a wonderful weekend and Go TEAM USA!

Honeymoon in Costa Rica

We went to Costa Rica for our honeymoon for 8 wonderful days!

Trey and I love to travel and we love to explore new places. We chose Costa Rica for its beauty and for all the fun excursions we wanted to go on. We went zip lining, hiking, and kayaking and visited a coffee plantation, the rainforest, Nicaragua for the day, the world's only freshwater lake with sharks, fed monkeys in the wild and ate at many yummyyyy restaurants.

We stayed in the Guanacaste Region of Costa Rica at the Hilton Papagayo Resort (Click Here). It was so incredibly beautiful! Here are some of pictures we took of the grounds of the resort.

Starting Life with my Man

Here We Go...

So, this is now my official attempt to break into the blogging world. As I start my new life with my wonderful husband, in a new town, with new jobs and new friends I hope to express my thoughts, feelings and what is going on in life here. So...I guess Ill get started...!

Me and my sweet husband got married on June 16, 2012 in Snellville, Ga.

We decided to see each other for the first time before the wedding. As reluctant as I was in the beginning to this idea, Trey and I decided in the end that it was a good idea...and I definitely DO NOT regret it. It was so wonderful and the sweetest moment we shared with each other.

Here we are with our amazingly fun wedding party. We have the BEST friends EVER!
